Charismatics Complaining

How Charismatics Can't Engage In Serious Dialogue

Charismatics tend toward dishonesty and infantile behavior when others won’t automatically drink their Kool-Aid. Having come from a more balanced background on this subject than most dyed-in-the-wool Charismatic, I will challenge their sense of rightness.

I don’t want to be harsh, but Charismatic teaching verges on kindergarten for religiously handicapped folks. Check your brain at the door, and whoop it up because the music puts you in a trance where you think the Holy Spirit is moving.

It’s wild talking to people like that. They are truly nonsensical and goofier than a pet coon. Everything in the Bible is a foil to bend around what they want to legitimize. You have to have a lexicon to understand their buzzwords and catchphrases—like valley girls used to do, or the Ebonics crowd. Folks, we have to expose this fruitlessness.

We need to resolutely look these folks in the eye and make them feel as odd as they are by not showing interest or acceptance. We need to show them the Bible and force them to face that they are cherry pickers as bad as Joseph Stalin used to do. In a past article last year, I noted how Charismatics hate the truly prophetic—the back-the-truck-up prophetic. We saw this with the confrontation between Mark Driscoll and John Lindell last fall. Lindell was completely out of place to call for Matthew 18 when it was an Ephesians 5:11 moment.

I hope you understand my heart and are not wearied by having to make a comment this direct. Blessing on you all for your readership. I hope I am encouraging you to speak up when you see folly.
